A senior estate agent has resigned from his role today after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

James Clarke (main picture) has been one of Knight Frank’s best-performing market chiefs heading up its 30-branch London sales operation for the past two-and-a-half years after joining the company in 2018.

Before that he worked at Foxtons as an Area Director.

MND is a rare but incurable disease that damages and attacks the nerves, stopping signals from the brain reaching the muscles.

Fundraising

With the full support of Knight Frank, James will spend this year fundraising to help others with MND and is encouraging colleagues and friends across the property industry to take part in forthcoming fundraising challenges.

Any funds raised will go to ‘My Name’5 Doddie, the charity founded by Doddie Weir OBE, one of rugby’s most recognisable personalities who also suffers from MND.

After 20 years of experience in the property industry, Rory set up Knight Frank’s Private Office in 2018, advising and transacting for UHNW clients and family offices across prime residential and commercial markets.

Tim Hyatt, Head of Residential at Knight Frank, says: “It is with great sadness we announce that James will be stepping down.

James has been a remarkable leader of the London business and a true asset to the firm, he is now admirably focusing his time in raising awareness of MND, something of which our partners, friends and family are fully supporting.
