Ian Wyn-Jones was found by the agency not to have "maintained the required customer-related standards at all times", although many of the allegations cover his work for other agencies.

An estate agent working within the eXp UK network who is alleged to have invented viewings and feedback as well as creating false offers during a TV show earlier this year has had his agreement with the company terminated.

Welsh agent Ian Wyn-Jones (main picture) was suspended with immediate effect on the 20th September after a Welsh language documentary, which was broadcast by ITV, featured several disgruntled former customers.

eXp launched an investigation which has now concluded. The company has released a statement saying: “Allegations were made of instances where his approach to customer service fell short of client expectations.

“As a consequence of the allegations made, eXp UK immediately suspended Wyn-Jones from their platform and halted permission for him to promote himself as an eXp agent.”

Wyn-Jones first partnered with eXp in January 2021 and prior to this was a franchisee with easyProperty and before that a Territory Manager with Purplebricks.

The investigation by eXp was conducted in the United States by members of the eXp Global senior team.

“This thorough process has now concluded and it finds that Ian Wyn-Jones at times fell below the standards set out and expected by eXp,” the company adds.

The investigation also found that the majority of the criticisms made of Wyn-Jones relate to his time working at previous companies.

“In the circumstances, it is with regret that Ian Wyn-Jones has now been terminated as an eXp partner agent with immediate effect,” the statement adds.

“This is due to the evidence of his failure to maintain required customer-related standards at all times during his tenure with eXp UK.”

eXp UK says it will not comment further on the matter.
