Zoopla launches faster smartphone app with viewings management tab

New app also works on tablets and offers several new functionalities in an age when 60% of house hunters search online via mobile devices.

The Negotiator has road-tested Zoopla’s re-launched app for smartphones and tablets and, even using a relatively slow broadband, it is much faster than the previous version. It also enables users to keep track of agents they have contacted and viewings that they have booked and completed.

It also features a less fussy interface, better navigation, the addition of Premier Listing Plus properties and functionality that’s designed to drive more leads to agents.

Zoopla says 60% of its users prefer to house hunt via its app, which has been downloaded 11.5 million times so far, reflecting the rapid spread of smartphones as many people’s key house hunting screen.

Other features that the portal says will drive more leads to agents include:

  • A ‘properties’ tab
This enables users to see all the properties they have looked at in one place and save the listings across all of their devices.
  • Personalisation
The search function has been separated from the homepage which, in time, will allow for greater homepage personalisation – which consumers now expect.
  • New navigation pane
Found at the bottom of the screen, it creates a more intuitive interface that copies elements of popular non-property apps such as WhatsApp and Instagram.

“We anticipate this improved consumer experience within the app will generate more leads for Zoopla agents and in turn even better value for money for them. In this sense, both customers and agents benefit from our latest innovation.”
