Former sailor launches assault on UK’s prime property market
Britain’s ‘most connected man’ is launching an online marketplace for the super-rich to spend on anything from a £150m Monaco mansion to a T. Rex skeleton.

Entrepreneur and former ship’s captain to the rich and famous, James Ballard, is launching an online marketplace for the world’s super-rich which will feature over £750m worth of property.
After years of working on luxury yachts with high-net-worth individuals Bournemouth-based Ballard is on everyone’s speed dials and is the go-to for A-listers such as Rod Stewart and Robert de Niro for all things luxury!
During his time as captain, guests would regularly point out houses and castles that they wished to acquire and after helping one buy an island, he was inspired to set up House of Assets, a luxury version of eBay for the super-rich.

The site went live this month with a billion pounds worth of items already listed. There is everything from a T Rex skeleton, a £150 million property in Monaco and a pair of Back to The Future Trainers signed by Michael J Fox.
Racing cars and Picassos
There’s also a piece of Schumacher’s racing car, bespoke jewellery from Royal’s favourite, Theo Fennell, racing cars, horses and artworks from Picasso, Warhol and Matisse.
The majority of the listing though are luxury properties which are collectively worth over £750 million.
These include highly sought-after Mareterra property (£150 million) in Monaco’s new multibillion-dollar neighbourhood and a stunning villa in Miami.
And for around $55 million there’s the rare and morbid opportunity to buy the Cielo Estate in Hollywood Hills. It is notorious for the murder by Charles Manson of actress Sharon Tate and featured in the film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The site also has a number of high-end London properties in areas such as Knightsbridge and Mayfair.
