Franchised lettings giant Belvoir has completed a significant reorganisation of its senior leadership team and structure that sees Northwood, the franchised agency it bought in 2016, at the centre of the business.

The new set-up sees the colourful MD of Northwood Eric Walker promoted to both run Belvoir as its MD and oversee its three other key brands too.

His Northwood colleague Phil Gee, who until now was its Operations Director, is to step up and become Northwood MD.

Walker’s promotion puts him in charge of the combined 300+ franchised branches of Belvoir, Newton Fallowell and Northwood.

Gee, along with Newton Fallowell MD Mark Newton (right), will now report into Walker, as will Michelle Brooke, MD of it financial arm Brook Financial Services. Dorian Gonsalves remains the group’s CEO with founder Mike Goddard staying on as chairman.

Four brands

Dorian Gonsalves image“As Group MD, Eric, who has over 30 years of industry experience, will be focusing on key operational and IT growth across all four brands,” says Gonsalves (left).

“He will be working to drive forward business growth, as well as bringing added value to all of our franchisees. Eric will also be responsible for driving forward estate agency growth, which at present is growing by 15% year on year and is an area of the business that is rapidly developing.”

Following his promotion, Walker claims that franchised groups like Belvoir have been doing better than traditional agents and are more suited to take on the challenges anyone operating in both sales and lettings are likely to face in the coming months.

“I have really enjoyed working with Northwood’s franchisees and very much look forward to working with the wider Group,” he says. “Within the individual networks there is a huge spectrum of experience and expertise that can be drawn together in a Group role.”
