In an innovative move to separate itself and its offering from the big three portals, Boomin has bought a digital interior design company My Bespoke Room.
The service will be integrated with Boomin’s Property Playground area of its site, where users can access goods and services relevant to their home move. Now they can have their new home interior professionally interior-designed, online.
My Bespoke Room’s technology offers the homeowner, renter, landlord or investor access to a range of professional interior designers who style and furnish rooms for a fixed affordable fee. Consumers will benefit from digitally designed room visuals, layouts, mood boards – and a shopping list.
My Bespoke Room will continue to operate through its own platform and will also be fully integrated into Boomin’s Property Playground and other key areas of the site.
Property Playground is a unique feature to Boomin, offering consumers a go to hub for all things home, from design ideas and inspiration, access to a wide range of suppliers – eg architects, designers and landscapers all the way through to wine cellar providers as well as the ability to purchase homewares from leading retailers directly through the website.
The benefit of Property Playground to agents, is the opportunity to build long-term commercial relationships with its customers.
Diana Greenhalgh and Laura Simpson, co-founders of My Bespoke Room said, “We launched My Bespoke Room eight years ago with a vision to revolutionise the world of interior design. Our mission was to make professional interior design accessible to all; bringing it online, making it convenient, affordable and fun. We’re excited about the next phase of growth for My Bespoke Room and the opportunities that joining forces with Boomin will bring.”
Michael Bruce (left) CEO and founder of Boomin commented, “I have long admired My Bespoke Room and their aim to democratise the world of interior design. Over recent months I have had the opportunity to get to know the team and discuss how best to join forces to reshape the industry. The acquisition will be a win-win for all parties. It will reinforce our strategy of creating a relationship that lasts a lifetime with everyone interested in property and not just those active in the market today.”
