Jefferson’s sweet coffee morning for Macmillan

Fundraising for Macmillan imageJeffersons Management Services in North London added a sweet flavour to their day with a Macmillan Cake & Coffee Morning. From tea and scones to coffee with a thick slab of chocolate cake, a tasty range of refreshments was on offer in exchange for a donation to Macmillan Cancer Care.

This is the third year the team has held the charity event, this year raising a £1,145.00 – bringing the grand total of their fundraising efforts over the past three years to £2,685.

Jeffersons Management Services was established in 1987, but in 2007 the founding director Viv Essex, sadly passed away as a result of cancer, with the company helm then taken by her daughter, Debbie Essex, and daughter-in-law Rekha Essex. Jeffersons felt that Macmillan was an appropriate charity to support, not only in light of Viv’s illness, but because cancer is such a widespread disease that can strike anyone at any time.

The coffee morning, hosted for three hours was described by Debbie as “a great opportunity to socialise, to get involved with the local community, and to support a cause very close to the hearts of all of us here at Jeffersons. We were thrilled to beat our previous fundraising totals – we’re already planning how to make it even bigger and even better for 2017!”
