Letting agents baffled by the government’s sometimes contradictory announcements about its plans to ban Section 21 ‘no fault’ evictions can pin down ARLA Propertymark Chief Executive David Cox on Thursday during a live online webinar.
Hosted by lettings platform Goodlord, the session will enable agents to submit questions to Cox about what the impending repeal of Section 21 notice evictions means for them, their landlords, and tenants.
The Q&A session has been organised after Goodlord said it was deluged by hundreds of agents seeking clarifications about the changes.
Several recurring themes have arisen including agents worried what they can do to eject tenants who are anti-social or have stopped paying their rent without having to use the much more complicated and lengthy Section 8 notice process.
Others are also worried that the removal of Section 21 notices will be the final straw for many landlords, and that it will trigger an exodus from the sector.
“We’re committed to helping the letting industry comply with legislative changes,” says Goodlord CEO William Reeve, who will be charing the session.
“As well as providing weekly upgrades to our award-winning platform, we are proud to be able to support the industry by enabling letting professionals across the UK to have their questions answered by David Cox.”
