Midlands estate agency Newton Fallowell is likely to win this year’s Christmas marketing wheeze gong after it uploaded an unusual property to Rightmove.

The 40-branch Belvoir-owned franchised estate agency has listed a four-bedroom igloo for sale on the portal within the unlikely arctic environs of Loughborough town centre, for just £1.

The agency has provided pictures of the frosty accommodation, which looks suspiciously like images half-inched from a famous snow hotel in Sweden, rather than the real thing.

But its listers have gone to the trouble of locating a floor plan for the property which includes room four people to bed down, three kit bags, tools, a stove and bench.

Purchasers wishing to ablute may have to go outside, but they may be some time if it’s snowing, as Captain Oates once said.

After a lengthy description of the igloo including instructions on how to build it, more gullible house hunters are only warned of its spoof nature at the end of the description.

“Attracting attention is our job!’ Get in contact with us, the ‘creative property agents’, for help with buying, selling or renting your next property,” the agency says.

But one agent in Scotland may not find Newton Fallowell’s humour that amusing.
