The industry’s latest attempt at a members-only organisation for independent estate agents has revealed its first approved supplier, Yomdel, and revealed its first member, estate agency Maurice Kilbride based in Cheadle, Cheshire.

Due to launch officially on April 25th, the invite-only Federation of Independent Agents (FIA) is to be an exclusive club with only one member per town or area and an approved list of 30 industry suppliers which will be offered as white-label products via its website.

Each category of service will feature one approved company and Yomdel is to be the FIA’s official managed 24/7 live chat supplier. Member agents will be offered discounts if they sign up to the service via their membership.

The FIA is the brainchild of Graham Lock (pictured, top), the former MD of The Property Franchise Group and founder of online agency HouseNetwork.

Lock has also revealed that the FIA will only admit independent estate agents, giving both corporates and online agencies the cold shoulder.

Other features of the FIA will include ongoing mystery shopping to ensure that members stick to its standards, a service that will be provided by Yomdel.

Graham Lock says the FIA is a “fresh take on estate agency membership organisations for a sector that has seen its landscape change significantly in recent years”.

Lock also says he’s bringing together an organisation of like-minded independent agents to enjoy a “commercial advantage in competing on costs” but also “to genuinely ensure that our agent members are the best there is as flag carriers for customer service and integrity. Our industry is getting tougher and only the better agents will prosper now”.

Agents can register their interest to join the FIA here.
