Estate agent duo recognised for sales success at global event
Mark Buchanan and Amie Brooks, both of whom work within the eXp UK network, flew to the gala estate agent event in Miami.
An estate agent duo from the UK have won global gongs for being the best in the business outside of the US, one for selling 157 properties in a year and the other for selling homes worth some £30 million.
Mark Buchanan (main image, left with his wife Julie) from Cumbria and Amie Brooks from Selby who took the total value award, both work within the eXp UK network. They flew to the gala event in Miami to get their awards, held at the Versace Hotel.
The agency pair bagged two of the global eXp performance awards for agents working outside of the firm’s core US market, beating agents from France, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
“I’m proud to have been the top selling agent in Selby for two years running having worked in the town since 2001,” says Brooks.
“But to be recognised on stage as the best of 22 country markets is a real career high and something I am immensely proud of. It looks like I have a lot to live up to next year now.”
Buchanan flew his entire family to the US for the awards and celebrated with a night at the hotel.
“I grew up in a council house in Cumbria and so winning the award for number one international agent for units sold is a real ‘pinch me’ moment,” he says.
“When I started my business, I wanted to take back control and do things my way, to create a better life for my family and to offer a fantastic service for clients.
“I never dreamed of getting to a level where we’re being recognised on stage for being one of the top producing agents in the world.
“What makes it even more incredible is that we live in a small town in Cumbria and it proves that you don’t need to live in a city with high value homes to be successful.”
Adam Day, UK and European Expansion Leader at eXp says: “The eXp UK business is the largest outside of the US and Canada despite only being four years old and therefore we’re getting used to big performances from our agents”.
