A group of 25 people from across the estate agency industry took on the Thames Path Ultra Challenge in memory of Sarah Edmundson, who died from breast cancer in 2024.

They collected more than £29,600 for Breast Cancer Now, with the total still rising.

Much-loved

Edmundson was the much-loved Chief Executive of Agents Together and a founding board member of Women in Estate Agency (WiEA).

Under the team name “WiEA Together”, walkers from estate agency, lettings, suppliers and industry businesses set out along the Thames, with 25km ahead for some and the full 50km for others.

The route took them through Richmond and Hampton Court, on towards Runnymede and Windsor. There were blisters, cramp, exhaustion, a rolled ankle and even an A&E trip along the way.

Every person who played a part should feel proud of what they helped make happen.”

Vicky Bibiris, Chair of Agents Together, says: “One of the moments I will remember most came late in the day, when one of our walkers was approaching kilometre 45 after around 14 hours on her feet and was still trying to push through the pain in the dark.

“Those of us who had already finished were glued to the WhatsApp group, waiting for updates and willing her on from wherever we were.

“People started sharing her fundraising page again, her donations doubled within an hour and everyone was waiting for the message to tell us she had crossed that finish line.”

Fundraising efforts

Bibiris adds: “I am incredibly grateful to everyone who walked, donated, fundraised, shared our posts, sent messages and supported the team.

“More than £29,600 is an amazing amount of money, and every person who played a part should feel proud of what they helped make happen.”
