Survey seeks to capture ‘real life’ experiences of women agents
Women working within the housing market are encouraged to take part in the anonymous survey which aims to shine a light on their experiences.
Women working in the property industry are being encouraged to step forward and share their experiences.
A new survey being described as the first of its kind is appealing for women from estate agency, conveyancing and surveying to tell their stories.
The aim is to “capture the voice of women”, according to survey author Susan Gregory.

“The survey has been something I have been keen to produce for many years, and I am delighted to have finally been able to bring it to life,” she says.
Gregory, who is an experienced estate agent and consultant, is using the platform provided through networking and collaboration group Women in Residential Property to encourage women to complete the anonymous survey.
“Whilst there have been efforts over recent years to amplify women’s voices and acknowledge that women working in the sector may have different experiences from men, there is very little, if any, research (and therefore data) that actually collates the experiences of women,” she says.

“The lack of data is problematic as, all too often, those of us attempting to bring women’s experiences into the conversations that shape our industry (with the intention of building a better industry for us all), have the lack of data cited as validation that there is ‘nothing to see here’.”
The findings of the survey will be brought together in a report that will then be used to shape future conversations, educate and influence decision makers within the sector, and form the foundations of a planned Women in Residential Property event to be held in 2025.
