Parkers opens new Basingstoke office following two acquisitions
Expansion brings The Property Explorer Lettings and Barons businesses under the Parkers brand as the group targets further growth across Hampshire.
Parkers has launched a new office in Basingstoke following its acquisitions earlier this year of established local agencies The Property Explorer Lettings* and Barons.
The move strengthens the group’s presence across Hampshire and provides an established platform from which to expand in one of the region’s largest property markets.
The new office complements Parkers’ existing locations in Tadley, Newbury, Reading and surrounding villages. For franchise owners Simon Gregory, Simon West and Ben Mitchell (main image, middle to right), Basingstoke represents a natural geographical fit for the business.
“Basingstoke fits perfectly geographically for us and our neighbouring offices, and it is great to see Parkers back in Basingstoke too,” says Gregory.
The acquisitions of The Property Explorer Lettings and Barons have provided the business with a strong foundation in the town, including a property management portfolio.
Building on local foundations
Gregory adds: “The acquisitions certainly gave us a running start in the town, with a very well-managed property portfolio that fits into the way we manage ours.
“Barons were one of the most successful agents in Basingstoke and were independently owned. While we are part of The Property Franchise Group, we still run our business independently, which is important to us.”
Parkers says its decision to acquire The Property Explorer Lettings was also driven by its existing links to Basingstoke through its Tadley operation and the town’s significant rental market.
The business has retained existing staff and strengthened its management team with an experienced local manager.
It is targeting increased market share in the next 12 months, with ambitions to become a market-leading agent and first choice for local landlords.
Alongside sales and lettings, Parkers Basingstoke will offer block management and financial services. The group is also considering further expansion into major towns as part of its wider growth strategy.
