Two big industry firms top the list for best parental leave
In a comprehensive survey of UK companies’ best parental leave packages Knight Frank came second and Zoopla third.
Knight Frank ranks number two in the UK for parental leave packages and Zoopla ranks number three according to a survey of 800 organisations and 200,000 parents-to-be by Nugget Savings.
Nugget Savings, which helps people prepare for parenthood, rated the parental policies of companies based on their pay rates during the leave period and how much time staff were allowed to take off.
And, if the company offered gender-equal policies, IVF funding, egg freezing, and miscarriage support, those scores were increased.
This list was created to show workers that there are organisations that offer benefits for parents.”
Investment Management company Baillie Gifford came top. From day one, it offers 26 days leave for new parents, male and female, at 100% of their basic salary and then another 13 weeks at 50%.
Knight Frank also provides 26 weeks of parental leave for both mothers and fathers at 100% pay and then another 26 weeks unpaid.
Third-placed Zoopla offers mothers six months off with full pay, three months at half pay and another three months unpaid. For fathers, there are eight weeks of full pay and four weeks of half pay.
Katie Guild, co-founder of Nugget Savings, said: “This list was created to show workers that there are organisations that offer benefits for parents.
Work-life balance
“We wanted to highlight those offering great packages for both parents, parents who are struggling to conceive, and parents who are going through baby loss.
“What we noticed is that not only are the parental leave packages incredible, but many are also championing work-life balance and female leadership, which is fantastic to see and invaluable for working mothers.”
