Knight Frank has been chosen by TV star Graham Norton to sell his London home in Wapping’s Pier Head Conservation area, where he has lived for the past 20 years.

Built in 1811 by the London Dock Company, the grade II listed Georgian home was originally a customs office. According to the listing, the accommodation has four bedrooms, five bathrooms and four reception rooms. It has four floors and a two-storey building adjoining, which was once a warehouse.

Together, they provide over 3,700 sqft of living space along with a pretty private garden with views across the river and a small inner courtyard.

It has been put on the market at £4.95m and is described by Knight Frank as ‘a beautifully presented and unique home’.

The interior shots reveal the décor is more tasteful rather than ‘showbiz’, although there is a “vast ensuite bathroom that occupies the entire top floor”.

We’ve been thinking about it for a couple of years and I finally feel brave enough to make a huge change to my life.”

Speaking to The Times about his decision to move, Norton said: “We’ve been thinking about it for a couple of years and I finally feel brave enough to make a huge change to my life.”

And he told Knight Frank: “I have loved my time in Pier Head over the last 20 years. The house has the ideal mix of cosy and open-plan living that spills out to the riverside.

“It has been the perfect home for many memorable occasions, as well as a haven from city life. I know I’ll miss waking up to the river with its big sky and boats gliding by, but as life moves on, so must I. It’s a truly special spot and I look forward to finding someone who will cherish it as much as I have.”

Simon Boulton, Partner at Knight Frank commented, “It’s incredibly rare to find a Georgian property of this quality and scale in such a prominent position overlooking the Thames.”
