Young estate agent moves from ‘hybrid’ to high street

Holly Price's business was born during the Covid aftermath via the EXP UK network but is now operating from a bricks and mortar address.

A estate agency launched via the EXP UK network is the latest to open a high street branch.

Price Independent Estate Agents, which is one of only a handful of firms to move from ‘hybrid’ to high street, was launched via EXP UK three years ago by Holly Price and just a few months after giving birth to her first child.

The business grew fast and after 12 months she took on her first employees and now has a team of four alongside three self-employed agents who work via her business.

Her business changed from trading as ‘Holly Price Powered by EXP’ to Price Independent Estate Agents’ a year ago and the connection is now emblazoned on her branch in Heworth, York (pictured).

Feels surreal

“It feels surreal. On our opening day, we had non-stop visitors welcoming us into the area, potential home movers, clients past and present and friends of the business popping in to see our new space,” she says.

“We want to support Heworth and for it to be a hub for the community, where people can come and ask us advice about buying their first home, selling their house or the property market.”

Price has also revealed some of her business stats including how she sold six homes in her first year and 50 in total to date.

I said we’ll do ten houses a year, and that’ll do me. And look at us now.”

“I said we’ll do ten houses a year, and that’ll do me. And look at us now”, she says. “EXP UK is a fantastic model to be under. They support you, and it really does feel like a community.”

Price has worked in the property industry for ten years, having previously worked at Hunters, McCarthy & Stone and flatfair as well as being involved in the Women in Residential Property group.

She says it was her husband, Andy (main image) who encouraged her to take the plunge. “I sold my family home, became pregnant, tried to get married five times during COVID and then quit my job to go self-employed. But I thought if I don’t do it now, I never will.”
