Are you the next Phil or Kirstie? TV show looking for camera-ready agents
Purple Production wants willing property people with rural beats who fancy a shot at being a TV presenter.
A TV production company is on the hunt for estate agents with rural beats who fancy a sting in front of the camera.
Manchester-based Purple Productions are after estate agents with bags of personality, a pride in their local area and a good portfolio of properties to show off.
Unlike most TV shows like Location, Location, Location or Escape to the Country, the programme will put estate agents centre stage, rather than the walk-on parts that most play on Phil and Kirstie shows, for example.
Purple Productions says plans are at a very early stage but that filming could start later next year once it gets the green light.
Estate agents
“We’re developing a brand new TV format and we’re looking for the best estate agents in some of the most beautiful parts of the country,” a spokesperson says.
“Someone who is guiding potential new residents in their search for their country dream home. Someone who’s the whole package, with bags of character, as well as lots of property expertise.
“We’re looking anywhere from Devon to Dorset, Cumbria to the Cotswolds or the Highlands to Harrogate.”
Rural escape
The show, which has yet to be named, will reflect the huge surge in city dwellers looking to exit the smoke and relocate to a more bucolic location.
“The impact of lockdown has meant many people have had a ‘once in a lifetime chance’ to re-evaluate their lives, and unsurprisingly the numbers of those who are moving – or want to – from ‘the burbs’ to the countryside to find a better work-life balance, particularly where a buyer has now got more flexibility around home-working, appears to be gathering pace,” says Sam Hunter, COO of Homesearch.
