Location, Location, Location TV presenter Phil Spencer to launch property data company
Location, Location, Location TV presenter Phil Spencer will this week launch a business that offers buyers a paid-for detailed property report about their intended purchase designed to give them more leverage when negotiating. Advice and information within the reports will include a property’s title register, a valuation provided by Zoopla, boundary plans, property photos, details of recent local planning applications plus more standard fare such as local crime rates, amenities and schools. The reports, which are paid for through website 192.com but created by MoveIQ, the name of Phil’s new advice business, cost approximately £15, alhtough noundary plans and title deeds costs extra. “Aside from all this general advice, the Move iQ Property Report has been specifically designed to help people form a rounded opinion on the pros as well as the cons of a particular property they’re considering,” says Phil. “My intention here has been to try and simplify the data and make it easier to understand as well as advise buyers and tenants how to use the information to their advantage.” He says the service is designed to address one of the key problems buyers face in the market; that they are not represented professionally in the buying…

Researchers do our Location, Location, Location, research says Kirstie
Have you ever been impressed by how TV presenters Phil Spencer and Kirstie Allsopp are so knowledgeable about each property featured on their Channel 4 show? If the answer is yes, then we’re sorry to say you’ve been hoodwinked. After 17 years on our screens it turns out the pair don’t do any of the research into the properties they take house hunters to view during Location, Location, Location. The revelation came after Kirstie appeared at a recent Daily Telegraph-sponsored public event at which she was asked during a Q&A with audience members about where she got her detailed knowledge about the properties and the local markets. And it turns out the programme’s researchers do all the property research and give the pair their air of authority. Location, Location, Location Kirstie said at the event that the producer and director of the show draw up a list of 80 properties for the home hunters to view and then go and visit 30 of them, while Kirstie and Phil visit the three or four properties they are filmed in during each programme.
