Belvoir snaps up hybrid estate agency Mr and Mrs Clarke
The deal, which is for an undisclosed sum, is said to fit Belvoir's strategy of buying up franchised estate agency competitors with potential for growth.
Hybrid estate agency Mr and Mrs Clarke has been acquired by national franchised property industry giant Belvoir.
Prime market operator was founded in 2015 and last year it had hoped to reach 100 territories across the UK by now after initially signing up 20 territories. It appears to be some way off this target.
The existing territories are operated by individual agents working on a self-employed basis covering London, Solihull, Stamford and Rutland, South Wales, Warwick and Leamington,Coventry, Stratford-upon-Avon and North Cotswolds, Birmingham, Northamptonshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Norfolk, Cambridge, Cheshire and Cornwall.
This acquisition gives Belvoir a hybrid string to its bow and its CEO Dorian Gonsalves (pictured) says the move fits with the firm’s strategy to buy multi-franchise competitors with potential for growth.
“Since founding their business in 2015, Alex and Paul Clarke have successfully created an award-winning company with a very different and exciting approach that includes outstanding attention to detail, innovative Instagram-style photography and property staging to enhance the sales process,” says Gonsalves.
“Importantly, Mr and Mrs Clarke will bring a very different kind of business model to the other brands currently within the Belvoir Group.
Brokerage
“This is a brokerage style self-employed model that will enable Belvoir to further diversify, by providing an alternative route into estate agency for potential business owners who prefer a relatively low-cost entry into the market, with the possibility of converting their efforts into high turnover.”
The Mr and Mrs Clarke brand will remain intact and the founding couple will remain at the helm for at least three years.
Paul Clarke adds: “The brokerage style business model is one which is making waves in the UK, especially in our new flexible working era, and we strongly feel that it will only become more popular.”
