Many cold-start estate agency firms don’t survive their first six months of trading but one based in Hampshire has reported an extraordinary start with 80 instructions worth £40m.

Rowe & Co Homes based in Chandler’s Ford says its unusually strong start has persuaded its management (main image) to double the size of its sales team and it now aims to become one of the region’s leading estate agencies, including plans to expand into other key locations throughout the area in the next two years.

Recent joiners include sales negotiator Harry Barrett and, more recently, Audrey Cherrett as senior sales negotiator. She joins from rival estate agency White & Guard and brings almost a decade of property experience with her.

Rowe & Co has claimed some other extraordinary figures including an average 99% of asking price during its first six months alongside 80 sales instructions from desirable locations in the area including Chandler’s Ford, Fair Oak, Otterbourne, Eastleigh and Hedge End.

The company, which says its driving vision is to raise property standards, was launched by managing director Rob Rowe, who has been a local estate agent for more than 25 years, including leading multiple offices for well-known independent firms in and around Southampton.

The other senior is associate director James Steele, himself an experienced agent with over a decade spent leading offices in Winchester, Fair Oak and Basingstoke.

Rob said: “It has been a fantastic first half year here at Rowe & Co Homes. The response to our approach has been phenomenal and we are extremely excited about what the future holds. The first interest rate cut in four years has just been announced by the Chancellor and we believe this will give the housing market a kick-start in September.

Their cold-start has also had some high-profile backing; Companies House records show two of its directors are the founders of UK property management giant Centrick Group, James and Carina Ackrill.
