Estate agents target more newbuild housing instructions
Hunters has launched a dedicated Residential Development Investment arm, while Douglas & Gordon has opened a Residential Development division.
Hunters and Douglas & Gordon are hoping to win more new housing instructions from housebuilders after launching dedicated New Homes divisions to cater for an anticipated rise in the volume of new build homes set to come on to the market.
Hunters has introduced a Residential Development Investment (RDI) divisionto cater for its growing number of investor and developer clientele in the land and new homes sector of the housing market.
With offices in Manchester and London the new RDI division, trading as Hunters Land & New Homes, will focus on delivering high-quality investment stock in the capital, Manchester and other select regional markets to Hunter’s expanding client base.
Services for developers include land sourcing and acquisitions; consultancy; and the management of sales and marketing campaigns in the UK and overseas, spanning Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
“Our team is equipped to offer developers nationwide a complete and comprehensive service including consultancy, innovate marketing and branding, on-site and overseas sales and of course, access to our national database of clients through Hunters’ 160 branches throughout the UK,” said Mike McManus (left), Director of Hunters Land & New Homes Manchester office.
In London, Hunters Land & New Homes will primarily concentrate on securing new housing instructions in secondary, outlying areas, according to Giles Leadbetter (right), Director of Hunters Land & New Homes in London.
He added, “We’re an agency that primarily focuses on investment property. Our instructions concentrate on stock that offers good capital growth potential with strong rental incomes. Right now in London, we’re seeing a flight to Zones 3, 4 and 5 of the capital amongst purchasers. These areas are presenting real medium to long-term growth, in contrast with the overheated prime central market.”
Meanwhile, Douglas & Gordon in London has announced the formal launch of their Residential Developments department.
Overseen by Executive Director Ed Mead (left), the New Homes division is run by ex-Knight Frank Partner and Savills Director Neil Batty and Residential Investments is led by ex-Grainger Director Peter Schwerdt.
Ed Mead said, “After 57 years of representing clients Douglas & Gordon is at last able to offer those requiring more detailed and personal advice the services required for more complicated investments and developments; Particularly those with smaller GDV sites that are often too small to interest the larger agencies.”
