A London estate agency has entered the Xmas video fray with what The Neg believes is the industry’s first festive offering.

Martyn Gerrard has filmed a heart-warming, or should that be hearth-warming, story of a young couple house hunting for their ideal home to buy and, after a viewing and purchase, moving in to celebrate Xmas, all set to Our House by 1970s supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

Filmed by the agency’s inhouse team in recent weeks, the two-minute video features the agency’s staff playing each role and features a real home from the company’s sales inventory in Barnet, North London.

The property is a four-bedroom detached house for sale at £1.1 million.

Martyn Gerrard’s video finishes with the couple revealing that they are about to have a child, and one of the firm’s negotiators wishing everyone a ‘Merry Christmas’.

A spokesperson tells The Neg: “The advert shares a heartwarming story of a young couple expecting their first baby and celebrating the festive season in their new home. With so much doom and gloom surrounding the property market recently, we thought this might offer a refreshing and uplifting change in tone.

The firm is a full-service estate agency with 15 offices across North London and was established in 1964 by Martyn Gerrard. His son, Simon is the current chairman supported by a team of some 100 staff.
