A high-profile independent estate agency in London has bought a competitor firm taking its branch count to 15 across North and NW London.

Martyn Gerrard has bought Islington-based Carlton Estate Agents, marking a significant milestone in its ‘ongoing growth plans’. The branch (pictured) will retain its branding initially but will eventually join the Martyn Gerrard family. All employees will be retained with the former Carlton owners providing support during the transition period.

This latest acquisition by Marty Gerrard follows the acquisition of Range Homes in Palmers Green in February last year, along with the opening of its latest ‘cold start’ office in Hampstead.  

Founded in 1998, Carlton Estate Agents has almost 30 years’ experience serving the community in Islington as the leading independent sales and lettings agent in the area.

The acquisition was brokered by Julie Drake at Adam J Walker & Associates, who tells The Neg: “There was keen interest in this business with many disappointed buyers.

“Martyn Gerrard are in acquisition mode and this is likely to be the first purchase of many. Martyn Gerrard are particularly excited to be taking over this prestigious business in particular, giving them a strong presence in the area.”
