Drones slash roof inspection bills by 85% says property giant

Property management firms’ bills are set to drop thanks to advanced drone technology now being used by big player LRPM.

Property management and lettings giant LRPM have been working with drone technology company Birds Eye View Aerial Surveys to carry out roof inspections, which both say cut costs from around £2,000 to as little as £300 for each one.

Traditionally, if a management company wants to inspect a roof, it often requires scaffolding which can be very costly and time-consuming when being completed, usually, every two to four years.

But using drones will make that process faster, simpler and cheaper, says LRPM. From above, drones can produce high-resolution imagery (main image) as well as track the progress of any ongoing issues such as dislodged tiles, guttering failures or sagging rafters.

LRPM’s hi-tech solution tie-up will not only enhance the accuracy of inspections it will also enable early intervention to fix emerging issues “before they become serious”.
