A new prop-tech conveyancing service that uses artificial intelligence (AI) has been launched after winning £500,000 in seed funding.

ProConvey has been developed by former conveyancer Chris Scantlebury (main image), who started work on the project at the beginning of last year.

Having experienced the complexities of the conveyancing process himself working for many years at ChartaHouse Conveyancing Services, he set out to create a digital onboarding platform that would reduce manual errors.

ProConvey will keep clients up to date on progress via an accessible database giving the latest developments in the conveyancing process. The platform has already been in beta testing with a number of law firms.

The firm has secured the support of angel investors and venture capital firms, including Ascension, and has also been supported by an Innovate UK grant.

AI tools

The funding is being used to further develop the platform, which incorporates AI automation tools to carry out administrative tasks, allowing professionals to focus on the job at hand.

“We’ve set out to simplify the conveyancing process for all involved,” said Mr Scantlebury.

“The feedback from users has been very positive and their feedback has allowed us to significantly develop the platform.

“As well as aesthetic improvements we’ve streamlined the user journey and added structural support for branches and team management within each branch.

“Notable updates have also been made to mobile responsiveness and there’s now a comprehensive notification system for both conveyancers and clients. The result is a platform that is easier to use, more intuitive and more efficient.”

ProConvey isn’t the first to harness AI to improve the conveyancing process. Home Sale Pack was launched earlier this year and has gathered considerable traction.
