Purplebricks lettings chief jumps ship to join rival

Spicerhaart CEO Paul Smith says Emma Fagan is one of a number of Purplebricks staff who have applied for jobs.

Purplebricks’ head of lettings operations has left the company while it is up for sale and joined Spicerhaart.

Emma Fagan (main picture) is the new property management area director for Spicerhaart’s branches in the Midlands and the North West.

She will be responsible for helping to drive the company towards its overall goal of 50,000 occupied units by 2025.

Fagan says she was excited to work for Spicerhaart because the company’s core values align with her own.

“I wanted to join somewhere which has a high-performance culture and that values continuous improvement and has a family feel,” she says.

“I really like working with like-minded people who are motivated to deliver results.”

Spicerhaart CEO Paul Smith says: “We have had significant interest from Purplebricks’ staff applying for the jobs we have on offer, and have said we will welcome the best. Emma is certainly that.

“She is someone who has worked in the industry from the ground up, knows it inside out and will make a real difference to the Midlands and North West.”

We have had significant interest from Purplebricks’ staff”

Emma began working part-time in an estate agency while she was at university. Her passion for the industry grew to the point she completed a post-graduate degree in Real Estate and Property Management, and has now spent 11 years in the property sector.

Satwant Basi, Lettings Managing Director, Spicerhaart

Satwant Basi, Spicerhaart’s lettings managing director, says: “It is a real coup to have Emma join us. I am sure she will do a great job helping us to meet our ambitious lettings targets, despite the market conditions.”

Purplebricks announced last month it was open to offers  as it struggles with falling profits.
