Uber living on London City Island
Apartment living moves up a gear in the uber trendy apartments just launched by EcoWorld Ballymore. 58 new apartments are for sale at London City Island, part of a development of 1,700 apartments, ‘al fresco spaces’ (aka: gardens) and handy for the o2, Canary Wharf, the City and Bond Street. These apartments in Emerald House on the new twelve acre island neighbourhood include suites, 1, 2, 3 and 4 bed units. Prices start at £365,000.
They will be popular with culture vultures – the London Film School intends to move to the island to join the English National Ballet and the English National Ballet School which will move to the island in 2017.
London’s new island neighbourhood, dubbed a ‘mini Manhattan’, is set to become a vibrant cultural area where residents will enjoy all the benefits of riverfront ‘island living’ – but they will only have to cross a 260ft red footbridge which spans the River Lea to reach the rest of London. This new link, constructed by Ballymore to improve the islands connectivity, will allow residents to reach Bond Street in just 20 minutes via the Jubilee Line and DLR.
