Winkworth bags former Dexters agent to open latest branch
Ben Ainsworth, who has worked at both traditional and hybrid estate agencies during his London career has opened a Winkworth office in Clapham.
Winkworth has revealed a new branch just a few days before it publishes its annual results.
The cold start is to cover one of South West London’s hottest property markets – Clapham – and the branch is located next to chef Adam Byatt’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Trinity.
Heading up the lettings and sales team, and the holder of Winkworth’s latest franchise, is Ben Ainsworth who before joining the agency worked at Dexters and before that Yopa and Knight Frank.
His new business means Winkworth has in excess of 60 branches in London and 100 across the UK.
Ainsworth, who lives locally, says: “This is a hugely exciting move, opening a new franchise for Winkworth and building a team in an area where I have spent many years working.
“Clapham offers such a wide range of homes, from one-bedroom flats from around £350,000 to beautiful, high end period properties in Abbeville Village for £3m.
Progress
“Many people move to Clapham and want to stay as their lives progress. It is a great choice for young professionals, with excellent links to the City on the Northern line.
“The Winkworth brand is highly regarded and has an impressive digital presence and yet it still retains its high street presence.
“I am looking forward to building a successful business and making the most of being part of a nationwide network.”

Dominic Agace, Winkworth’s Chief Executive, says: “Ben is an excellent example of the calibre of talent we want to attract – an expert agent with a wealth of relevant experience who is keen to be entrepreneurial and build a business.”
The company is due to report its annual results on 16th April
