Landmark maps out a new future for property

Digital mapping company Landmark Information has consolidated all its businesses that provide services to estate agents into one division, it has been announced. Floorplan provider Metropix and its recently-launched leads generation tool SmartVal plus Landmark’s GoView digital OS mapping and Mouseprice portal have been added to last year’s acquisition ETSOS and bundled together. ETSOS offers ‘compliance in a box’ to agents for Consumer Protection Regulation and Anti-Money Laundering Regulations. Landmark, which has offices in Reading, Exeter and Brighton, also provides income generation tools via its conveyancing quotes service both for branch use and consumer-generated online referral leads. The new division will be called Landmark Estate Agency Services and be headed up by Phil Natusch who, until now, had been managing director of ETSOS. He founded the company in 2010 and it’s not surprising that Landmark should prize his skills and experience. ETSOS was profitable within a year of launching and, most recent records show for 2014, has a turnover of £12m. “By bringing together all of Landmark’s residential property services under one roof, we are now looking at ways of delivering new product and service initiatives for the benefit of our estate agency clients,” says Phil. “I am excited to be…

    The Negotiator Expo 2015

The property market is changing, with new demands and new competition, but new technology, new support systems and new services all help savvy agents stay ahead of the game. In our post event survey, 70 per cent of delegates said they would do business with exhibitors that they had met. The lighter side With a packed programme, sustenance is vital – delegates had an almost continual availability of this throughout the day; welcomed with pastries, cookies and coffee, pepped up in the morning break with a further range of biscuits, delighted by delicacies over a long lunchtime, delivered by roving waiters, tasty bites included foie gras, fish and chips, crayfish rolls, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and mini fillet steaks (too name but a few), all washed down with wine and soft drinks. Sweet toothed delegates also enjoyed a splendid range of mini desserts to set them up for a tough afternoon. All the exhibitors were interesting. I particularly liked Flamefish – a new option that we hadn’t thought of. It was great to discuss PSG’s new product, MoveIT – we’ve already signed up for it! This year’s exhibitors included: Professional bodies and organisations: RICS, NAEA, ARLA, UKALA, TDS, PRS,…

More letting agents embrace floor plans

There has been a surge in the use of floor plans in rental property listings, according to Metropix, a major supplier of floor plan based products to the residential estate agency market. The figures, which have been gathered via Mouseprice, reveal growth of 182 per cent across a three-year period. In June 2012 just 5.71 per cent of properties listed included a floor plan, while the figure in June 2015 had risen almost threefold to 16.08 per cent. These findings were further supported in recent research among sellers and landlords by Rightmove, in which 43 per cent of landlords said that they would not instruct an agent if they did not provide a floor plan. Furthermore, the same research revealed that many tenants rank the ability to view floor plans as a priority. Rightmove report that many tenants rank the ability to view floor plans as more important than main image and summary text and second only to a selection of images for the property. Brian Farrell (left), Director of Metropix, said: “The Rightmove research tells us that tenants might completely ignore a property without a floor plan so I am not altogether surprised that we have seen such a…
