PROPTECH: Ambitious young conveyancing platform launches on Alto
Nearly a year after 'soft launching' and later raising £350,000 in funding, MoveGenius is now available to all Alto's member estate agents.

Conveyancing platform MoveGenius has gone live on Alto enabling its 10,000+ agents to use the service, which enables agents to both speed up their sales and conform with Trading Standards’ recently-revealed ‘material information’ rules.
MoveGenius was soft-launched in May last year and in December raised £350,000 in pre-seed cash from Octopus to develop its service, which can reduce fall through rates by 50% and cut time-to-exchange by 40%, among other benefits.
Founder Hannah Nicholson (pictured) tells The Neg that although Alto customers can sign up now, from next week agents will be able to join the platform direct via its website as an individual agent.
“We’re really excited because Alto has approximately 60% of the UK agency market and we chose that path because it’s more SME agent focused,” she says.
“Our focus is smaller estate agencies who aren’t necessarily tech enabled and who don’t want to be bombarded with a million proptech products.
“The whole point about being on Alto is that agents who use it won’t have to duplicate any information when gathering up all their vendor details because it will automatically transfer over to our platform for them.”
Fixed-fee
MoveGenius charges each estate agency branch a fixed-fee monthly subscription which will be standard for Alto customers, although Nicholson there will be scope for multi-branch deals.
“We’ve been very aware that the Trading Standards’ efforts to introduce material information guidance and particularly around energy costs at the moment, would make our platform very pertinent for estate agents, and so we’ve been working hard to hit that deadline,” she adds.
MoveGenius also uses Buyer’s and Seller’s Property Information or BASPI form launched recently by the Home Buying & Selling Group after it was tasked by Ministers to improve sales progression.
