Two men have been arrested and charged with the murder of a letting agent in London two weeks ago.

40-year-old property manager Eron Miah was found at 10.30pm lying in a side road in the Whitechapel area of the capital on November 19th with gunshot wounds to the head.

The father of two, who is believed to have worked as a letting agent for an East London property management company in nearby West Ham, subsequently died two days later from his wounds.

Hassan Mohammed, 31, of Cumberland Road, Portsmouth and Nanu Miah, 20, of Brandon Street, Southwark have been charged with murder after appearing at Thames Magistrates Court and are due to appear at the Old Bailey on 14th February.

Assisting an offender

Two women connected to Hassan and Miah have also been charged in connection with the case, one on suspicion of murder and another with assisting an offender.

Eron Miah was originally from Bangladesh and had a seven-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter.

Local media reports that he was described by neighbours in Barking as a “loving father” who doted on his son, and that his death has shocked his community.

Records show he was one of 1,300 agents and landlords licenced to manage properties within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham as part of its borough-wide Select Licensing scheme.
