St Helens business far from ‘agent’ history

St Helens estate agency, JB&B Leach, is celebrating its 165th anniversary this year.
Founded in 1856 by brothers Joseph Bithell Leach and Benjamin Leach, the business remained in the Leach family until 1939 until Wilfred H Leach died in 1939.
With no heirs, the agency was taken over by one of the business partners, Philip Johnson, also a very prominent local figure and WWII veteran.
Following his retirement, the business was operated in a partnership arrangement with employees coming through the ranks until it was acquired by Belvoir franchisee Dave Roberts in 2020.
To mark this significant anniversary, Dave and the team at JB&B Leach have unveiled a specially commissioned mural as a legacy wall within the office. The artwork by local artist Stef Woof depicts the origins of the business and its 165-year journey through to current day.
JB&B Leach cover all aspects of the residential property market backed by an in-house financial services team from the Mortgage Advice Bureau. The business continues its tradition of consistently delivering exceptional service to generations of St Helens residents but now using modern methods.
