Growing property industry player Lomond has revealed the staggering size of its expansion drive with its 58th acquisition, this time of leading East Midlands agency Acquire.

The firm, which has a presence in Derby, Burton and Chesterfield attracted Lomond’s ‘aggressive’ acquisition team because the region’s property market has performed strongly recently with house prices up 15% and rents by 20%.

Acquire’s acquisition, which follows those of other East Midlands firms by Lomond including Royston & Lund and Centrick, adds 700 properties under management to the group’s John Shepherd agency, which is its local ‘hub’ brand and is led by Chief Executive Richard Crathorne.

He says: “The East Midlands has been a key focus for the expansion of the John Shepherd brand and my senior team have been key in realising the ambitions of the business to date.

“We’ve been on quite the journey and, with the string of significant acquisitions made of late, it’s fair to say that we’re only just getting started.”

Acquire was founded by agent Kushi Bachada in 2007 and has 10 further employees on the sales, lettings and property management teams.
