Purplebricks brings back virtual valuations
Online estate agent uses remote viewing to improve lead flow and conversion of early-stage enquiries into instructions.

Purplebricks has reintroduced virtual house valuations, allowing homeowners to receive an initial pricing estimate via a video call.
Sellers can book a remote appointment with a local property expert, who is guided through the home digitally.
Fast and accurate
Purplebricks says the service can deliver a “fast and accurate” valuation without requiring a physical home visit, positioning it as an alternative to a face-to-face appointment rather than a basic estimate.
The agency adds that its valuers combine what they see on screen with proprietary valuation software analysing local prices, sale times and comparable properties.
Virtual valuations became widely used across the industry during Covid restrictions but have been less prominent in recent years as in-person appointments returned when the pandemic came to an end.
Their reintroduction comes as the agency attempts to rebuild its brand after a turbulent period, with founders Michael Bruce and Kenny Bruce returning to head a turnaround focused on restoring a “high-performing, sustainable” business.
The service can deliver a fast and accurate valuation.”
According to feedback from Harrogate Advertiser reporter Lizzie Gill, the virtual valuation is a positive experience, describing it as “a delight” and the agent as “very thorough” during the call.
She says the valuer guided her through software, carrying out structured market analysis of local house prices, sale times and comparable listings, offering what she describes as a deeper level of insight than she expected from a remote appointment.
Gill also notes there was no pressure during the appointment. The valuation was then delivered shortly after the call and was “pretty much identical” to figures provided by the two in-person estate agent valuations she received.
