SBK Property Group expands nationwide with twin acquisitions
Midlands-based SBK Property Group strengthens its portfolio with acquisitions spanning property auctions and specialist agency services.
SBK Property Group has expanded its national reach through the acquisition of Town & Country Property Auctions (TCPA) and rural property specialist, Rural Scene.
The group has acquired TCPA’s master franchise and North Wales franchise, building on its existing auction businesses, SBK Auctions and Auction House Loveitts. The deal establishes SBK Property Group as the UK’s sixth-largest property auction business, according to the group.
TCPA, established in 2010, operates a network of 14 franchise locations across Britain. The acquisition extends SBK’s geographical coverage beyond its established Midlands base.
The group has also acquired Rural Scene, a specialist agency focused on rural, lifestyle and equestrian properties with a nationwide client base.
Mike Cleary, co-founder and CEO of SBK Property Group (main image, left), said: “We are delighted to welcome both Town & Country Property Auctions and Rural Scene to the group. These acquisitions represent a major milestone in our growth strategy and further strengthen our ability to provide specialist property services at a national level.”
We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will create for our franchise network, clients and colleagues.”
Cleary said the acquisitions would support the group’s diversification, adding that its combined auction and rural divisions would serve residential and rural property owners, landowners, investors and commercial clients.
Properties across the group will also be listed on its free-for-agents national portal, See It Here First.
Franchise network
Neil McDonald, Chief Executive of Town & Country Property Auctions, said the business had been seeking a partner to accelerate its growth.
“Mike, Dan and the wider leadership team have a deep understanding of the property market and an impressive track record of business growth,” commented McDonald. “We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will create for our franchise network, clients and colleagues.”
Edward Oldrey, director of Rural Scene, said the agency’s clients would continue to receive specialist advice from its existing team, while gaining access to complementary services across the wider group.
He added that the partnership offered opportunities for growth while preserving Rural Scene’s personal approach.
