Agents say Boomin will ‘be much more than a list of houses for sale’
More details of what Boomin will actually be are slowly seeping out as it announces latest tranche of ten agents and nearly 100 branches to join.
Portal challenger Boomin has added a further 96 estate agency branches following the announcement of its latest ten estate agency joiners, several of which have said the portal will be much more than ‘just a list of homes for sale’.
This takes the platform’s total tally to 30 agents although these are only the ones who have agreed to publicity and the company’s spokesperson has told The Negotiator that many more have signed up with more to be announced the coming weeks and months.
Latest agents to join the platform are Humberts, Newman Property Experts, Beals, Keatons, Hurford Salvi Carr, MyLondonHome, Nock Deighton, Alexander & Co and – the largest – 11-branch West Wales Properties.
Described by one agent as more of a ‘virtual shopfront’ than a property search portal, nevertheless Boomin is using a tactic employed by Zoopla and OnTheMarket when they launched as portal challengers – to promote agents as they sign up.
Duncan Ley (left), Director, Humberts says: “The preview of the site has shown that the new portal has completely re-considered what can be offered to the public beyond a simple list of houses for sale.
“The additional content will encourage longer engagement and could capture buyers and sellers at a far earlier stage of their journey. “Humberts are constantly reviewing how we can offer a broader service to our customers and clients and Boomin is doing the same.”
Sean Newman (left), Chairman, Newman Property Experts adds, “I fully support Michael, Kenny and the Boomin team.
“The new platform is very innovative, which is needed in a market that needs a shake-up. This will be great for consumers and estate agents, so I am very excited about the launch.
Neil Evans, Managing Director, West Wales Properties adds, “We at West Wales Properties are always looking at ways to improve our clients’ experience when either buying or selling a property. Boomin seems to be offering a service that no other company has previously provided.”
Can it be replicated?
