An inquest has opened into the death of an estate agent in Norwich who died just months after his life and business partner also passed away.

The inquest, which is being held in Norwich, was told on Friday that Adam Thompson’s medical cause of death was cocaine and opioid toxicity.

They had both run local estate agency Reality Estate Agent which is still trading. Lucy, who continues to feature on the estate agency’s website in a video, founded the firm in 2009 while he joined in 2016 and the pair married in July 2019 after she had been given the cancer all-clear following treatment.

Adam had worked in architecture before joining Reality and had been described as being its ‘backbone’ ever since.

As The Neg reported earlier this year, after later announcing that her cancer had returned, Lucy gave up her role at the agency and focussed on raising funds for local good causes including a 24km charity run for charity the Big C.

Generosity

At the time a spokesperson for the charity said: “‘We cannot thank Lucy enough for the tremendous support and generosity she has shown Big C.

“To put others before herself when facing a secondary cancer diagnosis, is selfless, brave and nothing short of incredible.

“Lucy’s effort and personal courage and the support of her wonderful family and friends, will make a very real difference to others living locally with a cancer diagnosis-and-their loved ones.”
