LATEST: First estate agents register apps for Reapit’s new Foundations platform

Reapit CEO Gary Barker has told The Negotiator that 100 agents and tech firms have signed up to its SaaS service and that The Property Franchise Group and Manning Stainton have now registered several apps.

Reapit has begun rolling out its much-anticipated Foundations ‘app store’ platform and is now testing it with a selected group of estate agents and technology firms ahead of a general release, The Negotiator has been told.

The platform is unusual because it will be entirely open-source with no restrictions on who can develop an app and upload it to Foundations.

Some of the first to do this include The Property Franchise Group, parent group of Martin & Co and EweMove, which has registered two apps, and Manning Stainton.

The announcement this morning follows Reapit’s event in November during which a large group of leading agents and tech firms gathered to hear about its new platform in East London and some 100 companies have now signed up.

Reapit says it will open up the Foundations platform to more customers and partners once the Alpha phase has concluded.

Access to the Beta product will be extended to interested developers, be that proptechs or customers, in the coming weeks and the sign-up window for Phase 1 of the Deployment Program will be opened for existing customers in March.

In a recent article on LinkedIn, Dawson Scott, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Reapit, said: “We’ve extended our promise of an open platform with open sourcing of the Foundations portal and tooling kit.

“I’m very pleased to see that one of our participating partners in the Alpha, Manning Stainton, has already taken our open source single-sign-on solution to write their own PHP framework.”

Gary Barker, Chief Executive Officer, Reapit says: “I’m very pleased with our achievement at this juncture. We are the first PropTech developer to publish our solution in the industry, and that is a milestone that everyone at Reapit can be incredibly proud of.”

A couple of things and I am in no way connected to Reapit – I do no consultancy for them, but recently I was asked to project manage for my client the finding of the best software for their business. Me being me I spent three working days test driving a number of products, and top of the list … Yes you know.

    And why? because Gary Barker is in touch not just with selling a CRM, he has an overarching vision of where agency is, where it is going and where technology fits in. That is why he has gone for an open approach and here we have another example of it in a literal sense.

    Reapit is actually opening up the proptech space allowing collaboration, now that is forward thinking for the 2020’s.
