Inquest returns accidental death verdict following agent’s hiking fall
Carly Jayne Farrington, who fell to her death while out walking in the Brecon Beacons, had worked in the Bristol estate agency sector for over ten years.

An inquest has been held into the death of an estate agent after she suffered a traumatic brain injury while out hiking with her family in Wales.
40-year-old Carly Farrington, of Broadland Drive, Bristol who since 2010 had run her estate agency Carly & Co in Bristol, died at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff on May 17 last year after falling up to 15 metres from a popular ridge path between waterfalls.
She had been out hiking in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
An inquest at Pontypridd Coroner’s Court heard that she “sustained a catastrophic head injury and sadly despite extensive medical efforts including helicopter transfer, neurology care, and intensive care she did not survive”, said Coroner Patricia Morgan.

WalesOnline reports that the coroner recorded a conclusion of accidental death for the estate agent and listed a medical cause of death as traumatic brain injury and right brachial artery thrombus and restricted blood supply to the right upper limb.
Before starting her own estate agency, Farrington had worked for Countrywide for six years in the Filton area of the city, and had been planning to extend her firm’s business to overseas property sales and management.
She was considered one of the more influential agents in Bristol and in 2020 gave an interview to the Bristol Post about how her business survived the pandemic. Farrrington is survived by her two daughters, Isla and Elowen.
