Love Island estate agent receives death threats

Online trolls threatened Catherine Agbaje and her family after she left the ITV show, having previously worked as an agent.

Love Island estate agent Catherine Agbaje (main picture) received death threats after leaving the hit show.

Her family were also threatened Agbaje revealed, and she suffered panic attacks as a result of online abuse.

OK! magazine reports that during an appearance on The SHiiKANE Pod, Agbaje said she endured a period of not eating for several days.

It appears some viewers were upset after she briefly swapped partners on the show.

Targeted

“It was hard. Even talking about it makes me upset. I didn’t eat for about three or four days, I was so weak. I had panic attacks.

“I received death threats, it was horrible.” Even when Agbaje stayed off social media, trolls targeted family members.

She added: “It was very hard for me, but now I’m good. When you come out and you know what’s actually gone on and see how it’s been twisted and turned and now as a result people hate you want to see you die. It was very difficult.”

Least compatible

She had featured on the programme for more than a month before departing last month.

The public decided Agbaje and her partner Elom Ahlijah-Wilson were the least compatible couple.

It is unclear whether Agbaje is going to return to her day job as a commercial specialist with south London agency Kalmars.

She joined Kalmars early last year after completing a masters degree in real estate development at the University of Greenwich.

Agbaje, who is from Dublin, was recommended to Kalmars by one of her university course lecturers.

Sebastian Kalmar, residential director at Kalmars, told The Neg when she was selected as a contestant on Love Island in May, that everyone at the company was “incredibly excited and supportive” of Agbaje.

She follows Samie Elishi, another estate agent, who finished third in the last series of Love Island.
