Property platform launches photo service that checks images for GDPR compliance
FocalAgent's new PropertyBox tech is designed to offer smaller agents the ability to upgrade images and blur out any sensitive information.
A leading property marketing platform has launched a service that automatically enhances property photos taken by agents to create more professional images.
PropertyBox from FocalAgent upgrades images but also blurs out faces, car number plates and personal photos to keep images GDPR compliant.
The challenges of keeping property photos compliant came to light last year during a BBC investigation when an agent in Devon was forced to apologise after material within a virtual tour it uploaded to the portals included the home owner’s sensitive personal information.
FocalAgent says its new app also creates professional-looking images in seconds and enables smaller estate agencies to reap the benefits of high-quality visual content.

The photo makeover service, which uses advanced digital tools including artificial intelligence, provides vertical correction, brightness adjustment, colour enhancement, shadow boosting and blue-sky replacement.
FocalAgent Chief Executive and former Purplebricks UK boss Lee Wainwright (pictured) adds: “Rather than wasting precious hours editing their photos, PropertyBox does all the hard work for agents and, with an instant turnaround, helps them get listings live faster.
“This frees agents up to get on with what they do best – attracting more potential buyers, making more sales and winning more instructions. We know it will help thousands more agents across the UK benefit from great looking visual content, winning the attention of more potential buyers and tenants.”
The service costs £79.99p a month and comes with no contract ties, enabling agents to process up to 250 images a month.
