Propertymark reports significant growth ahead of national powwow
Membership of Propertymark tops 18,700 and finances improve, but frozen fees could be a thing of the past as agents prepare for its Excel event.
Propertymark has revealed a year of growth, political influence, and rising membership just days before its flagship industry event, The One, takes place at London’s Excel.
Its annual report reveals that membership rose by 4.3% to 18,711, with the body claiming it delivered enhanced support through services like its Lettings Helpline, which handled 17,500 calls, and the launch of Company Advantage, offering discounted commercial services for agency leaders.
Despite rising costs elsewhere in the sector, Propertymark held its core membership fees and Client Money Protection levies at 2022 levels for the third year in a row. With turnover increasing by 7.1% to £9.86m, a reported surplus of £185,000 and cash reserves growing to £7.1m, the report does suggest revenue was boosted elsewhere, however.
Looking ahead, Propertymark plans to expand training offerings and roll out new membership categories, including corporate packages, which could come with a different fee structure altogether.
Lobbying
The plans to separate the awarding body from direct delivery, through the launch of Propertymark Learning, was confirmed in the report, which may also come with additional costs.
Regardless, Propertymark Qualifications maintained its leadership, with 7,612 exams sat and 1,418 new certifications awarded. Over 800 audits were conducted across the membership to uphold high standards.
The report also highlighted the organisation’s lobbying achievements, with the policy team engaging in over 325 stakeholder meetings, responding to 37 consultations, and attending all major party conferences.

CEO Nathan Emerson, commented: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to our members, staff, and partners who have contributed to Propertymark’s success. Your dedication and professionalism drive our mission forward, and we look ahead with confidence to another year of progress, innovation, and growth.”
All eyes now turn to ‘The One’ on June 13th, where more than 2,500 delegates are expected to hear from industry voices including Kirstie Allsopp and mental health specialist, Professor Steve Peters.
