An estate agency branch has closed in Lincoln with all the business being taken over by a rival firm.

Taylor Walsh notified customers that with immediate effect Pygott & Crone would now be dealing with their property transaction or letting.

An office in Silver Street (main picture) was opened by Taylor Walsh in July last year, but it seems that a recent downturn in the sales market may have made it difficult. The company’s other office in Milton Keynes remains open.

Jamie Walsh, managing director and founder of Taylor Walsh, told The Neg the Lincoln branch was set up with a partner who was based there.

“Unfortunately, the partner left suddenly last December leaving us to try and manage a branch two and a half hours away from our hometown [Milton Keynes] unexpectedly.

“However, despite their best efforts the business just hasn’t managed to get enough momentum to keep going,” he said.

“The best solution was to close the branch and pass the clients to a reputable company in Lincoln”.

A customer, who did not wish to be named, told The Lincolnite they were disappointed at the news: “Taylor Walsh were super keen to get our business, however once we had contract signed we had minimal contact from our agent and the wider team.

“At this point we have heard nothing for six weeks. We only found out by checking junk mail today that they have closed the Lincoln office and passed everyone to Pygott & Crone without our knowledge or permission.”
