Zoopla has signed up one of the North’s major housebuilders to advertise 80 new developments a month on its platform.

Gleeson specialises in low-cost housing and last year increased its turnover by 25% to £249.9 million, making it one of the most successful builders regional builders, selling 1,529 homes during 2019.

It is unusual because, unlike many other national builders, it works hand-in-hand with local authorities desperately in need of regeneration and investment to acquire land on which Gleeson then builds affordable homes for those on low incomes.

Zoopla has been on the warpath recently to increase its range of regional newbuild developers uploading properties to its platform.

The Gleeson announcement follows similar agreements with Weston Homes in London and the South East; Duchy Homes in the North of England; and Edenstone Homes in South Wales and the South West of England.

Zoopla claims its recent decision to retool its new homes search functionality has generated a 43% increase in conversation rates for house builders, and that its new homes calculator and social media marketing tool, AdReach, have proved popular with house hunters and developers.

James Thompson, CEO Gleeson, comments: “We are excited to be working with Zoopla as not only do they deliver great value for money, their team is also extremely knowledgeable in the new homes sector.”

The property industry's movers & shakersAlex Rose (pictured, left), Director of Zoopla New Homes, says the portal has been investing heavily in its new homes offering recently.

Gleeson joining us is testament to our team’s in-depth understanding of the new homes sector as well as the benefits we deliver to our house builder partners.”
