Average agents sell five homes per month in 2022
According to 2022 figures by Nested, across Britain estate agents sold some 844,995 homes, equating to an average of 70,416 sold per month.

The average estate agent across Britain sold 5.3 homes each and every month in 2022, although Scotland tops the table, where as many as 13.1 homes were sold per agent each month, research by Nested says.
According to Nested, there are an estimated 13,396 estate agents across Britain – although other sources put the figure at over 20,000 – and in 2022, some 844,995 homes were sold, equating to an average of 70,416 sold per month.
THE REGIONS SELL MORE…
This means that according to Nested’s figures, on average, each estate agent across Britain sold 5.3 homes per month throughout the year.
However, when analysing this level of market activity at regional level, some regions are home to a far higher selling rate than others.
According to the research by Nested, the average agent in Scotland sold a notable 13.1 homes per month.
Meanwhile in the North West, the average agent sold 8.8 homes per month, while this figure stood at 8.6 homes sold per agent in the East Midlands.
STRUGGLING LONDON AGENTS
But agents in London seemingly struggle with figures showing that the average agent within the capital sold just 1.8 homes per month in 2022, with the South East seeing the next lowest level of activity at 4.3 homes sold per agent, per month.
At city level, Bradford ranks top where 12.4 homes were sold per agent every month, followed by Edinburgh (10.9) and Sheffield (6.5).

Alice Bullard, Managing Director at Nested, says: “Despite increasing interest rates and the market instability that followed September’s mini budget, 2022 remained a busy year for the nation’s estate agents, who continued to service a high level of market activity.
“Of course, while the market as a whole has stood firm, some areas have remained busier than others and nowhere more so than in Scotland where the country’s agents sold a quite remarkable level of homes.”
