Possibly also home to tuneful tones in the past of a different nature, a historic church with full planning permission for conversion to a luxury development also went up for auction.

The former All Saints Church in St Thomas dates back to 1845 and contains a memorial with names of some thirty soldiers from the area who were killed in the First World War, plus details of the recipient of a Victoria Cross.

Full planning has been granted for conversion of the church to a five-bedroom, six-bathroom executive home with further planning for a detached dwelling in the adjoining and extensive grounds.
