Proptech trade body relaunches and promises to work harder with agents
Estate agents are being invited to join the re-born organisation which offers memberships including free and 'gold' £5,000 options.
The UK’s main trade organisation for the proptech sector has relaunched itself, two years after initially being set up and is now promising to work harder to bring estate agents and technology firms closer together.
Called the UK PropTech Association (UKPA) it is being relaunched with both free and paid-for membership options to encourage property businesses to work more closely with tech firms and ‘learn more about the opportunities proptech provides’.
The relaunch is timed to coincide with the proptech industry’s biggest jamboree next week, Future Proptech.
“There is huge potential for both tech firms and the wider property industry through collaboration and digital transformation,” says UKPA Chairman Matt Partridge.
“Our new strategy and membership packages are designed to create a connected community, leverage the knowledge and skills of our membership and help to open up mutually beneficial partnerships.”
UKPA says the new packages will make it easy for companies to join and points out that it is a not for profit organisation and that membership money will go back into helping to support the UK property technology sector.
Membership
Membership for estate agents and other property-related businesses includes both a free, basic package rising to Gold membership at £5,000 a year while tech firms pay up to £999 a year to join.
One estate agent, London firm LiFE Residential has already signed up to be one of the first ‘gold members’.
“An association like UKPA is exactly what the proptech industry needs”, says LiFE’s MD, Jonathan Werth.
A new UKPA website including a members’ portal is set to launch later in the month.
