‘Sex pest’ Shropshire surveyor expelled from RICS

Andrew Liddiment was convicted of assulting women during a booze-fuelled night out in Shrewsbury and RICS has now taken action against him.

Senior surveyor Andrew Liddiment has been expelled from RICS after he pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault at Shrewsbury Crown Court last year.

The incidents took place on December 16th 2022 during a night out drinking in Shrewsbury (main image) but took some time to be heard at court.

Kevin Jones, prosecuting, said at the time that Liddiment had grabbed a woman’s bottom as she stood at a bar.

In another incident he pulled a woman into a side street and put his hand up her skirt, which could have been far worse had the victim not worn a ‘skort’ – a mix of skirt and shorts – the court heard.

Sex pest

Liddiment, who the judge described as being a “sex pest” is a father of two and was a senior partner at country house estate agency Balfours until last year. In a statement from 2019 the company revealed he was one of the firm’s new equity partners “joining the boardroom”.

According to Companies House records, he remains a director of a Balfours-related company, Burdevon Holdings Limited, which is listed as a ‘letting and operating of own or leased real estate business’.

He was, up until recently, a member of RICS, but had been suspended since October 2023 followingthe news that he would be prosecuted over the incidents.

Following his admission of guilt a Single Member Decision has now been made by RICS under Bye-law 5.2.2(c), and he was expelled from the organisation and ordered to pay costs.
