Recently-launched compliance platform ComplyLex has partnered with government-approved industry scheme the Dispute Service (TDS) to give its estate agent members access to property law advice.

Unveiled by former Martin & Co Group MD and senior industry figure Michaael Stoop, ComplyLex offers agents a mobile and laptop service that enables them to access the latest advice on the more complex elements of property law within the rental sector.

“There is a huge amount of legislation and regulation around lettings that can cause confusion or prove difficult to find,” says Steve Harriott, CEO of TDS.

“It is essential that agents and landlords stay well-informed on legal changes to avoid compliance issues and penalties. Up to now, that has not always been easy,”

Legal changes

This is particularly important at the moment as the English and Welsh governments change their evictions legislation on an almost monthly basis as notice periods, bailiff rules and other conditions of possession change.

“I am delighted that ComplyLex has entered into a promotional agreement and will be working in partnership with the Dispute Service,” says Stoop.

I think our two businesses complement each other perfectly by promoting the ethos of good practice within the estate/letting agency and landlord arena. ComplyLex will now have an added layer to its existing Sales, Lettings and Covid-19 content, with a Landlord Only bundle subscription which clearly sets out the obligations for landlords.”

TDS also says that member agents who sign up to use Complylex will get at 20% discount on its courses plus five free TDS Academy sessions per branch per year, while non-members will get just the 20% discount.

ComplyLex costs £25 a month per branch for up to 15 users but across any number of devices per user.
